Our story, briefly.

We started building content websites in 2010. One of them, FreeJobAlert, became one of India's largest government-jobs portals — serving over ten million readers a month. The others in the network cover state-specific recruitments, educational news, US jobs, stock market content, and crossword puzzles. A few of them are small. A couple are very large. All of them run on infrastructure we built and keep running ourselves.

For most of those fifteen years we were heads-down on our own properties. No outside clients, no agency work, no selling services. Then in late 2025 we started getting emails from other operators asking us to do for their sites what we'd done for ours — the cPanel migration, the speed optimization, the AI content pipeline, the whole playbook.

Melon Bots is the answer to those emails. A small, focused services practice offering the exact playbooks we run on our own network, at fixed prices, to a limited number of clients per quarter. We're not trying to become an agency. We're trying to do a small amount of high-quality work for operators who know what good looks like.

Why we're different from an agency

We don't have account managers. We don't have junior engineers billing senior rates. We don't do discovery phases that last three weeks and produce PowerPoints. When you hire us, the people who answered your first email are the same people writing the Nginx config, writing the migration scripts, and building the AI pipeline.

The flip side: we can only take on a limited number of engagements at a time. If we're full, we're full — we'll tell you honestly when we can start, and we won't over-promise to win the work.

Why Dubai × Chennai

Dubai gives us clean USD invoicing, Western business hours coverage, and a base that's comfortable for US and European clients to contract with. Chennai is where most of our engineering talent is and where the company has been operating for well over a decade. The two-city setup means we can cover US mornings, full European working hours, and all of APAC without anyone pulling night shifts.

Six principles we actually follow.

These aren't wall posters. They're the things we've learned the hard way from running production sites for a decade and a half.

01

Boring infrastructure.

Nginx. MariaDB. PHP-FPM. Systemd. Cron. The things that have been working reliably for twenty years are the things we reach for. Novelty for its own sake is a cost you pay in 3am incidents.

02

Fixed prices, fixed scope.

If we can't scope it tightly enough to quote it fixed, we don't take the project. "Time and materials" is almost always a way for a vendor to hedge their uncertainty at the client's expense.

03

Own your stack.

We don't lock clients into proprietary tooling, managed platforms we resell, or code we won't hand over. Everything we build is code you own, running on infrastructure you control.

04

Say no to bad projects.

If we don't think we're the right team — for skill fit, timing, or because the project is doomed as designed — we say so on the first call. The fastest way to hurt both sides is to take work we shouldn't.

05

Ship, then measure.

We're biased toward shipping. Every engagement has an explicit outcome, and we'd rather ship version one in two weeks and iterate than ship version three in three months. Perfection is the enemy of production.

06

Clients for years, not quarters.

Our goal with every new client is that you're still happy with us in three years. Retainers renew because the work is good — not because you're locked in. Month-to-month, cancel anytime.

What we own and operate ourselves.

We're engineers, but we're also operators. The things we sell as services are the things we use every day on our own properties. Here's what's running on our infrastructure right now.
